Shoshanna describes each one of these special cats below. She added that she would love to find someone who specializes in socializing cats. Tina, Shachar and Jenny would benefit greatly from that. Also, it would be wonderful if Jenny and Shachar could stay together, as they like to cuddle together. Sandy and Zohar are very attached to each other as well.

JENNY |
Jenny was born to my outside cat 4 years ago, the end of October, one of a litter of 4, two of whom looked like purebred Siamese (they got a home together through Siamese rescue). All 4 kittens survived a brutal winter outside with my hot meals and antibiotics; it wasn't till late spring that I was able to take them in. Jenny had 5 kittens who were very sick when I found them, so I took them all in. The kittens all survived, two of them were Siamese mixes and they were also fostered by Siamese rescue together with their aunt and uncle til they got placed, the other three got placed from a different rescue org - all in Connecticut - and they will not help me now. They did not take Jenny at that time because she was too scared. She is still shy - after living with me 3 1/2 years. She loves me to pet her, but if I walk towards her, she runs away. She needs more time and attention than I am able to give her. Jenny and her kittens and siblings all tested negative for FIV and leukemia, I assume she is also negative, she has not been sick all these years. She is not spayed. Her eyes don't really look like that - it was the flash

| Note: Jenny and Shachar are both very very shy, and would benefit from staying together. | |

SHACHAR |
Except for very rare moments like this, Shachar almost always hides in a corner - very scared. He was born outside, and I fed him since he was very young, and once he allowed me to pet him, I lavished affection on him, hoping to make him into a house cat; he did become very friendly when he was outside. Then I took him in the day before the big snowstorm in NY at the end of last December (2010); he was about 6 months old, but once confined, he reverted back to being feral. I know there is a very sweet loving cat still inside of him, I have not been able to bring it back out of him. He does sometimes rub against my legs wanting to be petted, but not most of the time; he needs someone who has infinite patience and love. He is neutered, FIV and leukemia negative. He is about 1 1/2 years old and breathtakingly beautiful.

TINA |
Tina is Jenny's older sister from an earlier litter from my outside cat. I am estimating she is about 6 years old, I can't remember exactly. Tina is very shy, she hides most of the time and when she comes out to eat, she is talkative and a little social, but she definitely needs a home that is not busy or stressed and the owner has much more time than I do for her. She is also not spayed.

ZORRO |
Zorro is between 5 and 6 months, male, not yet neutered. I found him wandering the street near a highway in my neighborhood a few weeks ago, knew he did not belong there, and took him home. He is a delight. He was someone's cat, who was either lost or abandoned; he blended in to the household routine and other cats after only 2 days. He is smart and well behaved, he watches TV , wants to see everything that is happening, he has a sweet, affectionate and very calm disposition. He is clean, healthy, beautiful soft coat, no signs of illness - definitely not a "stray" or feral. Zorro is unusual in his markings, since his ears, the top of his head, back and tail and back sides of the legs are all black; I call him a "black tabby." I would LOVE to keep him, but he is young and adoptable, and so I am trying to be disciplined and give him up to a good home.

SANDY |
Sandy is one of the two sons of Mommy, who I have - all three from my late mother's colony of ferals. Sandy, like his mother and brother, Simcha (picture and write up coming soon), started out very feral, and has become a real LOVE over the years I have had him. He is talkative and extremely affectionate once he gets over his shyness. He is about 7 1/2 years old, neutered.
|
| Note: Sandy and Zohar are very close and it would be wonderful if they could stay together. | |
|
ZOHAR |
Zohar - Strikingly beautiful all black with huge bright eyes. He is long and lean, reminds me of a panther. He is neutered. My son found him crying and following him on a busy street late at night and called me to come pick them up by car because it was dark and he was black, and my son was afraid the cars couldn't see him. He was about 5 months old and had a flea collar on him and was in great condition. I put notices in the newspaper, at all the local 24 hour convenience stores, pet food stores, vet offices, and no one claimed him. He is now about 5 years old, and great great buddies with Sandy. He would love it if he and Sandy can be placed together.

TIMMY (no photo available at this time) |
Timmy is a 6 year old male Silver tabby, born Caesarian,. He would do better being adopted where there were no other cats and no dogs. He is built long and lean like his father. He is smoky gray with white paws and tabby face like his mom, and faint CIRCULAR tabby markings on his sides, and HUGE bright eyes. Timmy is shy at first with whomever he does not know, but is very sweet and likes to be petted.

NOAM |
Noam is 3 year old neutered male. His former owners were "getting rid of him" because they were expecting a baby, I rescued him from them a year ago. His markings are like a chocolate lynx point Siamese with blue eyes, someone from Siamese rescue who saw these pictures said he looked more like a Maine Coone than Siamese, so I don't know where those Siamese markings came from, but he is more spectacular looking than the photos from my daughter's cell phone show. He was very shy at first, probably because he didn't get much love where he was, and he had to be force fed for a month. Now he is fine, so his new owners only have to love him, be understanding and only a little patient with him. Noam has a very sweet disposition and he is very talkative. He is very apathetic about the other cats - doesn't care about them one way or another. He follows me all the time to rub against my legs get petted but will not sit on my lap. He is rather independent. UPDATE - 1/23/12 - NOAM IS NOW IN A NEW HOME! |

MOMMY CAT |
Mommy. This spotted tabby female, now spayed, was one of my mother's outside cats. My mother died suddenly and left a whole colony of cats outside who I had to rescue, little by little. I trapped this one while she was pregnant, got homes for the kittens and then spayed her. She was EXTREMELY feral, but has become a real MUSH. Very very affectionate and talkative. She is about 9 years old, in great condition. Of all of my mother's cats, I have Mommy Cat and two sons from an earlier litter (not the one she had here in my apt). UPDATE - 1/23/12 - MOMMY KITTY IS NOW IN A NEW HOME! |
|
SNOWFLAKE |
Snowflake is a beautiful Persian mix, I rescued her from a rescuer. She is 11, I have had her since she was a kitten. Very very sweet and friendly. She is spayed. UPDATE - 1/23/12 - SNOWFLAKE IS NOW IN A NEW HOME!

SIMCHA |
Simcha is Sandy's brother, Mommy Cat's son, from my late mother's colony of cats. He was photographed here, on my lap, where he feels most secure. I just want to add, that each of these - Mommy Cat, Sandy and Simcha - are very very special to me, because they were my mother's cats. Simcha is a clinging cat, looking for security and very loving. He is very sensitive. In a new home he will be very shy for a long time, but he will give back a ton of love! UPDATE - 1/23/12 - SIMCHA IS NOW IN A NEW HOME! |
In addition to the cats listed above, Shoshanna does have five that she is extremely attached to (3 are elderly) and she hopes to be able to keep them with her. She describes them as follows:
|
Gypsy: Long haired black male, 16 years old, rescued as a little kitten, has been with me since then. |
|
Ginger: Tortoiseshell female, 16 years old, rescued as a little kitten with her two sisters, her sisters went to a foster home upstate NY when they were about a year old, and the family loved them so much they kept them, Ginger has been with me since the beginning. |
|
Angel: Long haired orange tabby male, 14 years old, son of Ginger and Gypsy, who was born here in this apartment. |
|
Charlie: Snowshoe Siamese male, 7 years old, was rescued as a very young and very sick kitten from the street, my son found him on the road, both his eyes closed due to infection. It was very hard to bring him back to health, when he was finally healing I gave him up for adoption so I would not get attached to him and keep him, but he got deathly ill in his new home and fortunately they returned him. His temp was already below normal when we got to the vet, who said he had a 50 50 chance to live, and I promised him that if he got well I would never give him away again. |
| Tabby - Looks exactly like Tina (pictured above). Tabby was 11 this past July 1 (2011), a technician at a local vet gave her to me to raise, she was only 2 days old, I am hoping to keep her. |
